Doug Bridges, age 79, of Gordo, AL passed away September 28, 2021 at his residence. Memorial services will be 2:00 pm Friday, October 1, 2021 at Sand Springs United Methodist Church with Bro. Byron Fair officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sue Burkhalter; brother-in-law, Walter Burkhalter and nephew, Richard Burkhalter.
Survivors include his daughter, Kelley Whitley (William); son, Brett Bridges (Ann); three grandsons, Blake Bridges, Braeden Bridges and Will Whitley; nieces, Suzette Jones (Kermit), Nancy Fair (Keith) and Amanda Newman (Reid); special pet, Cannon and a host of cousins and friends.
Doug was born February 6, 1942 in Gordo, Alabama to the late Milton Bridges and Mary Lou Strickland Bridges. He was a member of Sand Springs United Methodist and a retired employee of Daniel Construction.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Sand Springs United Methodist Church, 523 Hudson Drive, Gordo, AL 35466.
