Obituary

Dusti Crowell Carpenter, age 57, of Gordo, AL died July 3, 2026 at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Will Byars and Rev. Mike Hall officiating. Burial will be in Zion Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will follow the service at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Tona Junkin Crowell; brother, Jason Crowell; father-in-law, James William “J. W.” Carpenter and her grandparents, Homer and Lucille Sudduth Junkin and Leon and Clara Mae Crowell.

Survivors include her husband, Keith Carpenter; her father, William Crowell; daughter, Riley Byars (Will); son, Lance Carpenter (Ashley); brother, Bill Crowell (Nikki); grandchildren, Lottie Byars, Ivy Byars and Jase Carpenter; mother-in-law, Patricia Price Carpenter; sister-in-law, Kim Bell (Jimmy); niece, Addison Nichols (Tyler) and nephews, Logan Crowell (Laurin) and Brayden Crowell (Anne Elizabeth).

Dusti was born November 16, 1968 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She was a member of Big Hill Baptist Church, graduated from University of Alabama with a degree in accounting and a controller for West Alabama Bank and Trust.

Dusti was a devoted daughter, loving wife, and cherished DiDi. Her kindness, generosity and love touched everyone around her.

Honorary Pallbearers are Gordo High School Class of 1987.

The family suggests memorials to the Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center at DCH, 809 University Blvd. E., Tuscaloosa, AL 35401.
