GORDO – Edith Lyles Daniel, age 82, of Gordo, Ala., died March 26, 2018, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Shawn McDaniel and Logan McCool officiating. Burial will follow in Gordo City Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following service at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dot Lowe and brother-in-law, Alton Lowe; brother-in-law, Emmette Lowe and sister-in-law, Joyce Lyles.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Billy L. Daniel of Gordo; son, Neil L. Daniel of Gordo; sisters, Jackie L. Lowe and Bettye L. Heritage (Edward); brother, David Lyles; grandchild, Torey B. Acker (Todd); great-grandchild, Landon Acker; a number of nieces and nephews; and special friend, Kristy Parker Bailey.
Mrs. Daniel was born September 26, 1935 in McShan, Alabama to the late James Grady Lyles and Annie Mae Gardner Lyles. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church, a former employee of Westinghouse and Seton (Amedisys) Home Health and a lifelong resident of Pickens County.
Pallbearers will be Randy Burgess, Harold Free, Mitch Dyer, Hubert Taylor, Wayne Burkhalter and Tony Arledge.
