Edmond Willis "Eddie" Carroll, Jr., age 64, of Duncanville, AL passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side on June 15, 2021. Funeral services will be 12:00 noon Friday, June 18, 2021at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Brad Hartsfield officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cindi Gilpin Carroll; his father, Edmond Willis Carroll, Sr.; mother, Betty Nell Carroll Sutton and niece, Emily Hallman.
Survivors include his sons, Eric Carroll (Brittany) of Duncanville, AL and John Carroll of Ocean Springs, MS; two stepdaughters, Jessica Newcity and Dierdre Hogan; sister, Carol Ann Day of Brookwood, AL; granddaughter, Sabrina Carroll and six step-grandchildren.
Eddie was born October 18, 1956 in Tuscaloosa, AL. He was a retired employee of Phifer Wire with over 46 years of service. He was a loving father who enjoyed fishing with his boys and tinkering around on motors and anything else he could find.
Eddie was a jokester who would find any way he could to catch someone off guard and scare them or give them a hard time. His family likes to say that if Eddie didn't pick at you, then he didn't like you or was mad at you. He was an extraordinarily kind and generous man who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. His love for Alabama football was always evident by the hat on his head and always made sure he was able to watch Bama play on Saturdays.
He was devoted to his family and had a special bond with his granddaughter, Sabrina.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Aldridge, Clark Dobbs, Bobby Aldridge, Tim Carroll, Robin Day and David Aldridge.
