GORDO | Edna Earle Lancaster, age 83, of Gordo, died December 12, 2013, at home. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, December 14, 2013, at Flatwoods Baptist Church with Rev. Leonard Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jamie" Lancaster; her parents; and sister, Frances Williamson and husband, Doc Williamson.Survivors include her daughter, Dianne Caples and husband, Dennis of Gordo, Ala.; sisters, Leatha Buchmann (Harold) of Northport, Ala. and Beulah Johnson (Charles) of Birmingham, Ala.; two grandchildren, Jeremy Caples (Ashley) and Denise Franklin (Gerald); 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.Mrs. Lancaster was born July 14, 1930 in Gordo, Alabama to the late James Troy Sims and Cami Pate Sims. She was a member of Flatwoods Baptist Church, a retired employee of Westinghouse and a life long resident of Pickens County.Pallbearers will be Jamie Caples, Isaiah White, Gerald Franklin, Tyler Junkin, Jimmy Hall, and Andrew Hamilton.Honorary pallbearers are Gordo High School Class of 1951, former employees of Westinghouse, Dr. Douglas Reynolds and AlaCare Home Health and Hospice.
