BEECH ISLAND, S.C. | Edward Eugene Sellears, age 65 of Beech Island, S.C., formerly of Gordo, Ala., passed away on September 3, 2014 in Augusta, GA. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Pritchett officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove "Bump" Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, September 8, 2014 at the funeral home. The body will lie in state 1 hour prior to the service. Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Rebecca Elizabeth "Becky" Sellears and step grandson Dakota E. Peoples Wise.
He is survived by his life partner, Belinda Gail Peoples; his daughter Amy Marlowe (Jeff); son, Jeremy Sellears (Dawn); step son, William Chad Peoples; and five grandchildren.
Mr. Sellears was born October 25, 1948 in Augusta, Georgia to the late Clinton Sellears and Ammie Lue Rabun Sellears. He was employed as a truck driver for many years and was a well-known resident of the Gordo community.
Honorary Pallbearers will be David Adcox, Lance Cooper, Lee Shirley, Kevin Adcox, Scotty Adcox, and Steve.
