Elenor Catherine BarrettECHOLA, Ala. | Elenor Catherine Barrett, age 87, of Echola, Ala., died May 4, 2015, at her son's home. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 7, 2015, at Corinth Baptist Church with Rev. Martha Birmingham and Rev. Gene Dockery officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.She was preceded in death by her husband, George Washington Barrett; her parents; daughter, Diane Gilliam; sister, Lillian Waldrop; granddaughter, Misty Arnold; grandson, Kenneth McDaniel; and sons-in-law, James Arnold and Rusty Reams.Survivors include daughters, Sarah Reams and Patsy McDaniel (Glenn); son, Lonnie Barrett (Janet); son-in-law, Dennis Gilliam; sisters, Hazel Townsend and Sadie Thompson; eight grandchildren, Shane, Chelisha (Ken), Jennifer, Tiffiany (Paul), Jamie, Kimberly, Brandi, Eric, Macgyver Hlad, and Katlyn and Kara Pate; and seven great-grandchildren, Justin, Logan, Payton, Kelsey, Ryan, Kymbrelle, and John Russell.Mrs. Barrett was born April 27, 1928, in Gordo, Alabama, to the late Victor Freman Reece and Helen Gay Reece. She was a member of Love Fellowship Church, a retired employee of Westinghouse with 27 years of service and a well-known resident of Pickens County and the Echola community.Pallbearers will be Jamie Reams, Eric Gilliam, Justin Barrett, Payton Barrett, Shane Barrett, Ryan Justiss, Logan Boyd, Ken Pate, and Paul Smelley. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Corinth Baptist Church, 12808 Corinth Church Rd., Elrod, AL 35458.
