GORDO Ellen Davis Homan, age 71, of Gordo, died October 16, 2013, at home. Services will be 4 p.m. today, October 18, 2013 at Gordo First Baptist Church with Bro. Pat Powell, Bro. Scott McQueen, and Bro. David Singleton officiating. Burial will follow in Gordo City Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Homan; her parents; sister, Phyllis Baines; and brothers, Robert Woodrow "Sonny" Davis, Jr. and Ronny Davis.
Survivors include her daughters, Lisa Tant (Chuck) and Angie Moss (Garth); son, Rodney Homan (Paula); seven grandchildren, Christopher Heritage, Colton Tant, Brooks Moss, Peyton Moss, Lauren Homan, Jacob Homan and Ashton Sellman.
Mrs. Homan was born October 29, 1941 in Pickens County, Alabama to the late Robert Woodrow Davis, Sr. and Flona Raye Ballard Davis. She was a member of Gordo First Baptist Church, a retired secretary for Gordo Hardware and a life long resident of Pickens County.
Pallbearers will be Brooks Moss, Colton Tant, Christopher Heritage, Jacob Homan, Drew Thomas Patterson, and Craig Patterson.
Honorary pallbearers are special caregivers, Robin Patterson, Melinda Hodge, Jill Dunham, and Cindy Winston, all of her very special friends, her church family and all of her neighbors.
