Obituary

GORDO – Elmer Lynn, age 69, of Gordo, Ala., died August 13, 2016, at his residence. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ben Logan and Bro. Terrell Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhill Memorial Gardens with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be from 9:30 – 11 a.m. prior to services at the funeral home.He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, M. L. Lynn; and sister, Katie Whitaker.Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Miller Lynn of Gordo, Ala; daughters, Beverly Harcrow (Doug), Penny Brazeal (Bryan) and Laura Lynn, all of Gordo, Ala.; son, Randall Lynn (Keicia) of Gordo, Ala.; sister, Rachael Durrett; brother, Bobby Lynn; granddaughter, Kendall Rose Lynn; step-grandson, Joshua Harcrow; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Lynn was born June 18, 1947 in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama to the late William Lawrence Lynn and Mattie Lee Patterson Lynn. He was a member of Holman Free Will Baptist Church and was an ordained minister with the Mt. Moriah Association. Elmer was a retired employee of B. F. Goodrich and a well-known resident of Pickens County.Pallbearers will be Auzie Martin, Wesley Robertson, Allen Clanton, Rev. Tony Latham, Wilburn Martin, James Robertson, Earl McDaniel and Alvan Durrett. Honorary pallbearers are J. T. Miller and Northside High School Class of 1966 and former employees of B. F. Goodrich.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the American Heart Association Southeast Affiliate, P. O. Box 409410, Atlanta, Ga.
