GORDO | Essie Mozzell Pritchett, age 97, of Gordo, died March 3, 2015, at Northport Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2015, at Hannah United Methodist Church with Rev. Jimmy Pritchett and Rev. Jake Barrett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be Saturday, March 7, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harwood Pritchett; daughter, Jean Sanders; her parents; three sisters and five brothers.Survivors include her daughter, Sue Tilley and husband, Colin of Ralph, Ala.; son, Milton Pritchett and wife, Charlotte of Gordo, Ala.; seven grandchildren, Tim Bridges (Lisa), Terry Bridges (Shania), Tina Young (Kevin), Tammie Horton, Todd Pritchett (Tamra), Tonya Burns (Jason) and Jessie Pritchett (Dusti); 16 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Pritchett was born November 11, 1917 in the Zion community of Pickens County, Alabama to the late John Wesley Pearson and Velma Hannah Pearson. She was a member of Hannah United Methodist Church, a retired employee of Westinghouse and a lifelong resident of Pickens County.Pallbearers will be Devin Young, Danner Young, Todd Pritchett, Cain Horton, Austin Pritchett and Jessie Pritchett.Honorary pallbearers are Mr. and Mrs. Roy Fair, Mr. and Mrs. Mack Fair, Leon Fair, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Fair, Mr. and Mrs. Ron Blakney, Bruce Falls, employees of Arbor Woods Nursing Home and members of Hannah United Methodist Church.
