ALICEVILLE, Ala. | Euell Herring, age 95, of Aliceville, Ala., died February 13, 2015, at home. A Memorial Service will be 1 p.m. Monday, February 16, 2015, at Aliceville First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Tim Alexander officiating. A private graveside service will be held at Franconia Oak Grove Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Cox Herring; his parents; and siblings.
He is survived by his daughter, Betty Owens and husband, Ken, of Aliceville, Ala.; son, Don Herring and wife, Jill, of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; grandchildren, Kristy Capps (Billy), Jonathan Herring, Heather Anderson (Michael Cousino), Gray Smith, Oliver Owens, Tanner Herring, and Taylor Owens; great-grandchildren, Kolby Bowman, Brayden Anderson, Kylee Anderson, and Dalton Cousino; and special caregivers, Felicia Sommerville and Roberta Colvin.
Mr. Herring was born October 1, 1919, to the late Homer and Zelma Bicknell Herring. He was a retired supervisor for Huyck Felt Plant, and also opened the Sears Store in Aliceville. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, a member of the Aliceville First United Methodist Church, and a well-known and respected resident of Pickens County.
