Evan W. Hammond Obituary

REFORM – Evan W. Hammond, age 72, died September 22, 2016, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2016, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobbye Hagler officiating. Burial will follow in Unity Grove UMC Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following service at the funeral home, Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters and Grandson, Cora Bailey, Sarah Brownlee, Lillian Hollinger, Jane Price, Joan Wilson and Annie Pearl Hall.
Survivors include special friend, Carol James of Palmetto, Ala., son: James Evan Hammondbrothers, John William Hammond of Palmetto, Ala., James Roland Hammond and wife, Kay, of Fayette, Ala.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Evan was born May 15, 1944 in Palmetto, Alabama to the late Joe William Hammond and Mary Moore Hammond. He was a member of Unity Grove United Methodist Church, a retired employee of Branyon Oil and an avid Alabama fan.
Pallbearers will be Chris Tubbs, Greg Tubbs, Tim Bailey, Scot Self, Joe Hammond, David Bailey and Bobby Callahan.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Unity Grove UMC, c/o Judy Boler, 6511 County Rd. 3, Reform, AL 35481.
