Faye Lyles Cook, age 88, of Ethelsville, AL passed away July 22, 2021 at her daughter's home in Northport, AL. Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Sunday, July 25, 2021 at Mineral Springs Baptist Church in Reform, AL with Rev. David Blakney and Rev. Kevin Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be 6 - 8 pm Saturday, July 24, 2021 at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, William W. "Dock" Cook; infant son, James Brent Cook; her parents and nieces and nephews.
Survivors include her daughters, Cindy Cook Strickland (Billy) of Ethelsville, AL and Amy Cook Perkins (Billy) of Northport, AL; brother, Donald Lyles (Doris); three grandchildren, Lance Perkins, Hannah Perkins Robertson and Emelia Strickland Reece (Jesse); two great-grandchildren, Ramsey Robertson and Saylor Reece and a host of nieces and nephews.
Faye was born May 18, 1933 in Pickens County, Alabama to the late Edd Lyles and Maude O'Briant Lyles. She was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church and a retired Vice-President of First National Bank of Central Alabama with 31 years of service.
Faye enjoyed being with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a devout Christian and found great joy participating in church activities and spending time with her church family. Her greatest desire was to have the assurance that her entire family will join her in her heavenly home.
Pallbearers will be Ken Shirley, Bill Strickland, Jeff Seymer, Chipper Seymer, Jeff Lyles, Jack Heritage, Terry Cook, Dale Cook, Doug Cook and Jack Smith.
Honorary Pallbearers are Mineral Springs Baptist Church Adult Ladies Sunday School Class.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Mission Pickens, 10817 County Road 30, Ethelsville, AL 35461.
