GORDO | Frances Hall Fair, age 84, devoted sister, wife, mother, grandmother and aunt went to be with her Savior, December 30, 2013, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, January 2, 2014, at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Hershel Owen and Rev. Lindsey Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in Gordo City Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Early Hall and Martha Hannegan Hall.
Survivors include her husband, Jack Fair of Gordo, Ala.; daughter, Jackie Howell (Richard) of Gordo, Ala.; sons, Mike Fair (Janice) of Simpsonville, S.C. and Kenneth Fair (Cheryl) of Petal, Miss.; sisters, Peggy Junkin and Patsy Anderson, both of Gordo, Ala.; five grandchildren, Bryan Fair of Prattville, Ala., Kevin Fair of Panama City, Fla., Ben Howell (Kristen) of Hoover, Ala., Sara Howell of Gordo, Ala., and Jennifer Fair of Simpsonville, S.C.
A lifelong resident of Gordo, Frances was happily married to her high school sweetheart, Jack Fair for 66 years. Her love of Christ manifested itself in service to her church, Emmanuel Baptist, in numerous ways. A founding member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, her passion for spreading the Good News led her to teach Sunday school most of her adult life. Exemplifying this service to her Lord by showing everyone love and kindness, she will be missed by all who knew her.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Fair, Kevin Fair, Ben Howell, Tim Shaw, Randy Anderson, Joseph Fair, Jonathan Anderson and Todd Hall.
Honorary pallbearers are Gordo High School Class of 1947 and Emmanuel Baptist Church family.
