Frances Duren Windle, age 96, of Starkville, MS passed away April 13, 2023 at Trinity Health Care in Columbus, MS. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Jared Dearing officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove-Franconia Cemetery in Aliceville with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Earl Windle, Sr.; her parents; brother, Charles Albert Duren and two sisters, Nell Duren Jones and Anne Drinnon.
Survivors include her daughters, Elizabeth Windle Thompson, Yvonne Windle Higdon (Wallis) and Lanie Windle Patterson; her son, Earl Windle, Jr. (Jane); brother, George Bryant Duren (Margaret); seven grandchildren, Jason Windle (Amanda), Brian Windle (Lori), Michelle Baker (John), Andrew Higdon, Stacey Higdon-Barringer (Reuben), Lauren Goodman Dearing (Jared) and Bailey Goodman Criswell (Clay) and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Frances was born April 10, 1927 in Gordo, Alabama to the late Wesley Albert Duren and Gladys Allen Duren. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Starkville, MS and a retired employee of McRae's Department Store.
Pallbearers will be Jason Windle, Brian Windle, John Baker, Ricky Lee, Wallis Higdon and Clay Criswell.
