LOUISVILLE, Miss. – Fred McClain Young, age 88, of Louisville, Miss., went to be with the Lord on the 7th day of October, 2016. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Blakney officiating. Burial will follow in Backbone Cemetery in Echola, Ala., with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following service at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jean Hall Collins; his parents; five brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include his sister, Mary Elizabeth Castle of Smithsburg, Maryland; numerous nieces and nephews; his Louisville, Mississippi family: Donnie and Cathy Hall and Judy Stoval.
Fred was born March 31, 1928 near Tilghmanton / Fairplay, Maryland to the late James Young and May Davis Young. He retired from the U.S. Navy and was a life member of AMVETS Post 10 in Hagerstown, Maryland.
