George Vernon Burgess, Jr., age 79, of Tuscaloosa, AL died January 4, 2026 at Heritage Heath Care and Rehab.  Graveside services will be 3:30 pm Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Mt. Moriah Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in McShan with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, George Vernon Burgess, Sr. and Mildred Gore Burgess.   He is survived by his cousins.
George was born August 23, 1946.  He was a graduate of Tuscaloosa High School, Class of 1964 and the University of Alabama with a degree in Industrial Management.  He worked in various industries in Alabama and retired from TAMKO.
George enjoyed hunting with his father until his death.  He enjoyed traveling in his later years, going to coin and gun shows and he took pleasure in his collectibles
