Obituary

William Gordon "Peanut" Galbreath, age 94, of Gordo, Al passed away April 20, 2023 at his residence.  Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Sunday, April 23, 2023 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Shawn McDaniel and Bro. Adam Homan officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenhill Memorial Gardens with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; baby daughter, Brenda Lene Galbreath; brothers, Charles Galbreath, Pete Galbreath and Arthie Dow Galbreath; grandson, Travis Hudson and great-granddaughter, Casey Jackson.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years,  Eulene Galbreath; daughter, Dedra Rushing (Randy); son, Derrell Galbreath (Debra); stepbrother, Ricky Gene Gattis; five grandchildren, Shane Galbreath (Amber), Nikki Galbreath, Danielle Sandlin (Travis), Ashton Rushing (Chad) and Nick Shelton; seven great-grandchildren, Bradley Jackson, Ashlynn and Alanna McElroy, Trenton and Trevor Hudson, Blake and Riley Shelton and two great-great grandchildren, Haven and Aria Jackson.
Peanut was born February 28, 1929 in Morgan County, Alabama to the late Johnny Galbreath and Cora Lillion Curry Galbreath.  He was a veteran of the United States Army serving two years in Germany during the Korean conflict and was married to Eulene for 70 years.  Peanut  retired from B. F. Goodrich after 41 years of service and was a member of Highland Baptist Church.
Peanut was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved his friends and family.  He loved building fiddles in his fiddle shop, playing fiddles, square dancing, hunting and fishing.
Pallbearers will be Shane Galbreath, Jason Galbreath, Bradley Jackson, Matthew Godwin, Randy Peeks and Dennis Stokes.
Honorary Pallbearers are Brady Perrigin, Doug Noland, Milburn Oden, Randy Burges, Roger Stokes and Larry Smith.
