February 25, 1930 – July 19, 2023
Harold Davis, age 93, of Gordo, AL passed away July 19, 2023 at Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday, July 24, 2023 at Cornerstone Global Methodist Church in Gordo with Elder Tim McCool and Rev. Marvin McCormick officiating. Burial will follow in Gordo City Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be 6 - 8 pm Sunday, July 23, 2023 at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn Glass Davis; his parents; brothers, Sam Davis, Bill Davis and Mike Davis and daughter-in-law, Mary Davis.
Survivors include his wife, Marsha Davis; daughters, Pamela McKenzie (Mark) of New Orleans, LA and Laurie Presley (Scott) of Tuscaloosa; son, Dale Davis (Sharon) of Carrollton; eight grandchildren, Casey Beeton (Pete), Molly McKenzie, Megan Wright (Landry), Davis Presley, Jake Presley, Jackson Presley, Ashley McNair and Adam Bailey (Anna Ruth) and seven great-grandchildren, Ray Bailey, Conor Bailey, Jaxson Beeton, Georgia Beeton, James Foshier, Greyson Wright and Mason Beeton.
Harold was born February 25, 1930 in Gordo, Alabama to the late Sam Davis and Lou Crawford Davis. He was a member of Cornerstone Global Methodist Church, formerly Gordo First United Methodist Church. Harold was a pharmacist for many years at Glass-Davis Drug Store in Gordo and a veteran of the United States Army. He was a former Mayor of Gordo and he loved his church and church family. Harold was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Adam Bailey, Davis Presley, Jake Presley, Jackson Presley, Sam ""Dobby" Davis and Larry Handley.
Honorary Pallbearers are Jim Knight, Dan Shay, Lanessa Lanier, Cassandra Lanier, all former employees of Glass-Davis Drugs and employees of Skelton Funeral Home. Special thanks to Aspire and Hospice of West Alabama.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Cornerstone Global Methodist Church, P.O. Box 343, Gordo, AL 35466 or Hospice of West Alabama, 3851 Loop Road, Tuscaloosa, AL 35404.
