REFORM – Hayes Alton Lowe, Sr., age 89, of Reform, Ala., died September 16, 2017, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 3 p.m. Friday, September 22, 2017, at Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhill Memorial Gardens with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to services.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dot Lyles Lowe; his parents; and sisters, Betty Lowe Taylor and Mildred Lowe Jaynes.
Survivors include his son, Hayes A. Lowe, Jr. and wife, Bre; grandchildren, Kiley Lowe and Julia Adair Lowe; brother-in-law, Hubert Taylor; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Alton was born November 21, 1927 in Reform, Alabama to the late Earnest Jefferson Lowe and Drusie Ann Doughty Lowe. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, a retired agent for the Liberty National Life Insurance Company and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Honorary pallbearers are former Liberty National Life co-workers and members of Liberty Baptist Church.
