ALICEVILLE – Hazel Christine Sims Aldridge, age 88, of Aliceville, Ala., died January 27, 2016, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 30, 2016, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Keith Crowley officiating. Burial will follow in Marvin Chapel Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately after the service at the funeral home.She was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry H. Sims; her daughter, Barbara Faye Sims; her parents; and sister, Hester Powell Hardy.Survivors include her husband, Olen Aldridge of Aliceville, Ala.; daughters, Carolyn Sims Spencer of Helena, Ala., Marilyn Sims Harcrow (Donald) of Pine Grove, Ala. and Doris Sims Frederick (Jackie) of Deatsville, Ala.; step sons, Jerry Aldridge (Gwenda) and Brent Aldridge (Becky); sisters, Eunice Shirley of Northport, Ala., Edna Priscock of Aliceville, Ala. and Betty Bryant of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; brothers, Edward Pate of Northport, Ala., Troy Pate of Birmingham, Ala. and Bobby Pate of Duncanville, Ala.; grandchildren, Tim Spencer of Pelham, Tonya Woods of Pleasant Grove, Alison Miller of Samantha, Jennifer DeVaney of Sugar Hill, Ga., Tracy Sides of Chattanooga, Tenn., Leslie Flowers of Luverne and Samantha Friend of Deatsville; two step-grandchildren, Kerri Joe Aldridge and Bret Aldridge; eight great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.Hazel was born October 16, 1927 in Pickens County, Alabama to the late Ivy Pate and Beulah Hall Pate. She was a member of Carrollton Church of God and a retired employee of Westinghouse.Pallbearers will be Jerry Aldridge, Brent Aldridge, Jackie Frederick, Donald Harcrow, Tim Spencer and Damon Hughes.Honorary pallbearers are her great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters, DCH MICU staff, former co-workers of Westinghouse and members of Carrolton Church of God.
