GORDO | Henry Leroy Latham, age 80, of Gordo, died August 5, 2015, at Arbor Woods Health and Rehabilitation. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, August 7, 2015, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tony Aldridge and Rev. Jerry Trotter officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bernice Latham and Leon Latham; and sister, Lillian Vails.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Peggie Driver Latham; daughters, Donna Small (Marshall) of Northport, Darlene Cherry of Northport, Cathy Gray of Gordo and Caren Latham Shelton (Eric) of Oklahoma; son, Curtis Latham (Denise) of Gordo; sister, Faye Lett of Tuscaloosa; brother, James Latham (Marilyn) of Tuscaloosa; grandchildren, Dana, Alan, Chad, Rachael, Jonathan, Caleb and Samantha; great-grandchildren, Haley, Elaina, Christian, Hunter and Emma; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Ms. Latham was born December 13, 1934 in St. Claire County, Ala. to the late Henry Levi Latham and Vista Malone Latham. He was a member of the Church of God, a retired surveyor for Gulf States Paper Company with 42 years of service and a well-known resident of Pickens County.
Pallbearers will be Alan Gray, Dillon Driver, Cody Driver, Zac Jones, Danny Hicks and Bobby Sanders.
Honorary pallbearers are employee of Arbor Woods Health and Rehab and Southern Care Hospice.
