Obituary

Clarence Adolph "Jack' Sanders, Jr., age 82, of Guin, AL passed away April 7, 2023 at Sunset Manor in Guin. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Friday, April 14, 2023 at Guin First Baptist Church with Bro. Zane Miles and Bro. Kenny Hatcher officiating. Burial will follow in Gordo City Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be from 5 - 7 pm Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Guin First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Scott Duncan.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Barbara Homan Sanders of Guin; daughter, Donna Smithwick of Broken Arrow, OK; son, Steve Sanders (Tammy) of Guin; sister, Jimmy Loy Duncan (Tim) of Cincinnati, OH; three grandchildren, Kaitlyn Smithwick of Alexandria, VA,
Hunter Sanders of Guin and Jacob Sanders of Florence and a number of nieces and nephews.
Jack was born December 7, 1940 in Gordo, Alabama to the late Clarence Adolph Sanders, Sr. and Katherine "Sis" Johnson Sanders. He was a member of Guin First Baptist Church, a 1963 graduate of the University of Alabama and a retired supervisor for 3-M Manufacturing with 37 years of service.
Pallbearers will be Hunter Sanders, Jacob Sanders, Mickey Mayo, Andy Gray, Bo Dyer, Brian Foley, Byron Pollard, Dan Homan, Larry Akers, Bual Tubbs, Glen Jenkins and Lynn Gordon.
Honorary Pallbearers are the members of Guin First Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Marion County High School Athletic Booster Club, P.O. Box 302, Guin, AL 35563.
