James Tony Boothe, Sr.
REFORM | James Tony Boothe, Sr., age 75, of Reform, died December 31, 2014, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Michael Bonner and Bro. Bill Benson officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhill Memorial Gardens with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. The family will receive friends immediately after the service.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Johna Boothe Kelley.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Dot Bishop Boothe of Reform, Ala.; son, James Tony ""Jay"" Boothe, Jr.; and grandchildren, Zach Kelley and Trey Boothe.
Mr. Boothe was born February 8, 1939 in Pickens County, Alabama to the late James and Louise Logan Boothe. He was a lifelong resident of Pickens County and a longtime member of Antioch Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He retired from North American Phillips Company and B and B Golf Cart Company of Reform. He was a well known cattle farmer, a member of the Alabama BCIA and the Pickens County Cattlemen's Association. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather.
Pallbearers will be George Bishop, Sampson Cheeks, Rodney Estes, Darvin Hemphill, David Hughes, Pat Smith, Sam Smith, and Matt Wilkins.
Honorary pallbearers are Charles Moody, Pete Powers, Jimmy Bonner, ""Members of the Board"", Sam Wiggins, Carlton Benton, Rex Grace, and Danny Lazenby.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 501, St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
