KENNEDY | James "Pete" Cook, age 69, of Kennedy, died June 24, 2015, at home. Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2015, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Long and Bro. Mark Dean officiating. Burial will follow in Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery in Gordo with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Doris Newell Cook of Kennedy, Ala.; sons, Jeffrey Duane Cook (Christy) of Kennedy, Ala. and James Eric Cook (Leisa) of Gordo, Ala.; brothers, Johnny Carl Cook (Avis) of Birmingham, Ala., Jimmy David Cook (Joyce) of Cottondale, Ala., and Bobby Wayne Cook of Cottondale, Ala.; and two granddaughters, Brittany Elaine Cook and Madison Denise Cook.
Mr. Cook was born October 13, 1945 in Alabama to the late William Carzell Cook and Ethel Lee Jackson Cook. He attended Faith Community Church of God in Millport, Ala. and was a retired supervisor for Tenn Tom Firewood in Aliceville, Ala.
Pallbearers will be David Cook, Alex Cook, Jeremy Newell. Adam Newell, Jonathan Easterwood, Tony Puckett and Lane Guy.
Honorary pallbearers are Hospice of West Alabama with special thanks to Lisa Pennington and Sheila Gordon. -
