Obituary

James E. "Jim" Freeman, age 64, of Carrollton, Ala., passed away peacefully on December 28, 2013 at home. Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Glenn Sandifer officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Burial will follow services at the Marvin Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to and immediately following the service. James was preceded in death by his father, Oscar David Freeman; mother, Louise Beck Freeman Carroll; and brother, Buddy Freeman.He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Amelia Freeman; his daughter, Melanie Harvell (Richard) of Eutaw, Ala.; sons, Brian Freeman of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Josh Freeman (Ashley) of Carrollton, Ala.; sister, Sarah Henderson (Billy) of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; sister-in-law, Theda Freeman of Cottondale, Ala.; and his grandchildren, Rachel and Luke Harvell, and Nathan and Gracie Freeman,James E. "Jim" Freeman was born April 15th, 1949 in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama. He was an avid fisherman and loved to hunt. A die hard Alabama fan, "Frog" as he was known to a lot of family and friends, was always the life of the family get togethers. He always had a smile of his face and wanted everyone to laugh along with him. James let us know on a regular basis that he was the "good looking one" of the family. He really enjoyed his time with his family and his precious grandchildren. He looked forward to visits from family and friends. James was honorably discharged from the Air force in 1973 and was a member of the National Guard until 1985.Pallbearers will be Timothy Freeman, Hunter Lee, Randy Lee, Dylan Bridges, Matthew Alderson, Denny Bridges, Josh Freeman, Tommy McDaniel, and Brandon Wood.Honorary Pallbearers will be Billy Henderson, J.B. Beck, Robert and Diane Beck, Bill Fikes, Debob McDaniel, Charlie and Betsy McDaniel, Richard Harvell, Roscoe and Sandra Harvell, and Bert and Teresa Johnson.
