ALICEVILLE | James "Ed" Long, age 76, of Aliceville, Ala., passed away on Friday, December 25, 2015 in his home. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at Panola United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Tim Alexander officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Ed was a devoted father, beloved friend and brother.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Long and Ida Ivy Grove Long; his brother, Reid Long; and sister, Mary Lula Long Williamson.
He leaves behind to mourn his death a sister, Ida Long Colgrove; a daughter, Karen Long Upton (Bill Huff); a granddaughter, Brittney Upton Riley (Zach); a great grandson, Zachary William Riley; a host of special friends, nieces and nephews; along with a special care giver Mary Williams.
Ed was an environmental professional, an avid animal supporter and proud American who served in the Navy.

Pallbearers will be Zack Riley, Bill Huff, Josh King, Clark King, Edmund Colgrove, Weston Colgrove and Reid Colgrove.
Honorary Pallbearers are Bobby Jim McClenon, Joel Colgrove Sr., Reid Colgrove Sr., Joel Colgrove Jr., Kurt Colgrove and Chris King.
