James Harold Elmore Sr, age 80 of Gordo, AL, passed away April 9, 2021 at his residence in Gordo, AL. A graveside service will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday April 14, 2021 at Sand Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery in Gordo, AL with Rev. James R. Bane officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be from 12-1:30 pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Elmore was preceded in death by his parents; brother, L.C. Elmore and his sister, Martha Elmore McCaleb.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years Sheena Atkins Elmore; daughters, Rheena Elmore and Crystal Bane (Jimmy); sons, James Elmore, and Darryl Elmore; three grandchildren; Taylor Elmore- Holman, Brandon Elmore and James Bane II (Cecile); five great- grandchildren, Ellie Grace Bane, Morgan Bane, Grayson Elmore, Braydon Elmore and Braxton Elmore; two sisters, Edna Elmore Bailey and Carolyn Elmore Summers (Donald) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Elmore was born November 10, 1940 to the late Julian Bruce Elmore and Roena Hannah Elmore. He was a retired employee in sales for Coca-Cola, a well-known resident of the Gordo area and attended Gordo First United Methodist Church.
Pallbearers will be Ken Elmore, Lewis Elmore Jr, Richard Howell, Drew Elmore, James Bane II, and Randall Shirley.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Anguiano Jr, Tracy Morrison, Sherry Lunceford, and staff of Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center, Dr. Robert Posey, Dimple Thakor and staff of Med center, Gordo Methodist Singing Men, Pickens County Singing Men, Kristy Bailey, and a special thanks to Sam Strickland, Richard Howell, and Jackie Howell.
