James was a life long resident of Pickens County, Alabama and he was better known as Bones and Hammer to many people and friends. He was a retired employee of Raiford Hall Logging. James accepted Jesus as his personal Savior in November 2013, was baptized and became a member of Big Hill Baptist Church. He loved his family and his church family. James was a man with a small voice but had a great big heart when it came to helping others. His hobby was going fishing with his friends and cooking the fish he caught for them. Fishing was something he lived for and went everyday he could. He had special friends Timmy and Charlotte Anderson that he loved so much. James will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends that so dearly loved him.
Pallbearers will be nephews and cousins.

We want to thank Hospice of West Alabama and Northport Medical Center for the love and kindness shown to our brother and family. We also want to thank great nephew, Garrett Honnell for being a great help with his Uncle James, the Palmetto Fire Department and ambulance service that helped transport him to the hospital.
