James "Larry" Elmore, age 73, of Birmingham, Alabama died January 17, 2019 at St. Vincent's Hospital. Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Elmore and Sister Jackie Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Greenhill Memorial Gardens with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Syble Ware Elmore; his parents and siblings, Andy Elmore, Mary Rose Duncan, Margie Fields, Brenda Coleman, Beechel Tipton, Patricia Brown, Betty Gray.
Survivors include his daughters, Samantha Elmore Reichle and husband, John William of Birmingham, AL and Paige Ruffin Wright and husband, Jon Scott of Atlanta, GA; stepchildren, Tim Peterson, William "Beaver" Peterson and Lisa Marler and husband, John; three brothers, Jerry Elmore, Johnny Elmore and Danny Elmore; grandchildren, John Caleb "Little Man" Reichle, Samuel Reichle, Pierce Reichle, Elisabeth Brightbill, Luke Wright and Katherine Wright; step-grandchildren, Jonathan Marler, Andrew Marler, Alex Marler, Laurn Marler, Austin Peterson and Daniel Peterson; one step great-grandchild, Elon Marler and his beloved dog, Sassy.
Mr. Elmore was born January 27, 1945 in Kennedy, Alabama to the late James Henry "Buster" Elmore and Annie Lou Mitchell Elmore. He was a retired finance manager in the automobile industry.
Pallbearers will be John Caleb Reichle, Samuel Reichle, Pierce Reichle, Luke Wright, Austin Peterson and Andrew Marler.
Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. Anisa Ssengoba-Ubogu and staff, caregivers, Tilya Hill and Emma Hampton, Alabama Pain Physicians and staff, Dr. Andrew Collins and Dr. Monica Hunter of St. Vincent's Hospital.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
