REFORM - James Ralph Martin, age 90, of Reform, Ala. died February 27, 2018 at Sansing Country Home. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ralph Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Arbor Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service. The body will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the service at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Virginia Stokes Martin; parents, Edgar ""Red"" Martin and Mertice Hannah Martin; and brother, William Earlie Martin.
Survivors include his daughters, Brenda Coshatt (Randy) of Aliceville, Ala. and Karen Kyles (Harvey) of Reform, Ala.; sons, Jeff Martin (Renee) of Fultondale, Ala. and Mike Martin (Karen) of Huntsville, Ala.; sister, Betty Pritchett (Grafton) of Northport, Ala.; grandchildren, Stephen Coshatt of Macon, Ga., Jason Coshatt (Brittney) of Northport, Ala., Colett Thomas (Mark) of Heiberger, Ala., Clint Kyles (Dana) of Reform, Jamee Donaldson (Brandy) of Kimberly, Ala., Jennifer Ledward (Christian) of Gretna, Neb. and Stephanie O'neil (Sean) of Corner, Ala.; great-grandchildren, Carson Coshatt, Makayla and Courtney Thomas, Presley Kyles, Maddy , Caroline, Liam and Henry Donaldson, Andrew, Anderson and Brooklyn Ledward, Leland and Lola O'neil; and great-great-grandchild, Braxton Thomas.
Mr. Martin was born January 31, 1928 in Gordo, Alabama. He was a member of Reform First Free Will Baptist Church and retired from Westinghouse in Reform. He was a United States Navy veteran and a life-long resident of Pickens County.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to a church or charity of your choice.
