ELROD - James Oklin "J.O." Wallace, age 88, of Elrod, Alabama died, October 23, 2017, at his residence. Services will be 11 a.m. at Dunn's Creek Baptist Church Thursday, October 26, 2017, with Rev. Brannon Pinion officiating. Burial will be in Dunn's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Dollie Mackey and Nellie McMillan; brother, Bruce Wallace.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years Bernice Sullivan Wallace; daughter, Brenda Wallace Lee (Bruce); brother, John Wallace (Judy); grandson, Christopher Lee (Rebecca); great-grandchildren, Will and Gray Lee; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Wallace was born February 03, 1929 in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama to the late Monroe Wallace and Rosie Herald Wallace. He was a retired Supervisor for Weyerheuser with 35 years of service and a member of Moore's Bridge Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Bruce Lee, Christopher Lee, Thad Stripling, Kyson Mauter, Clyde Rector, and Dylan Stripling.
Honorary Pallbearers are employees of Southern Care Hospice, Dr. Brian Wilhite and staff.
