Jean Bobo Bailey, age 84, of Gordo, AL passed away August 28, 2021 at Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Louis Johnson and Rev. Bruce Boswell officiating. Burial will follow in Gordo City Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior and immediately following the service at the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Truman Bailey; her parents; six siblings and son-in-law, Woodrow "Woodie" Trull.
Survivors include her daughters, Brenda Long (Joe) and Cindy Trull; six grandchildren, Cacyce Fowler (Matthew), Chase Smelley (Michelle), Matthew Trull (Jenny), Tasha Trull, Brittney Trull and Haley Trull (Keith) and great-grandchildren, Graci, Bryton, Wilkes and Addi Brooke Fowler, Laila, Emalyn and Oliver Smelley, Cooper Gant, Kingston and Bentley Scott Trull, Chason Rae Quarles, Camdyn Trull, Madison and Meleah Colvin, Jacob and Kylah Nicholson; sister, Doris Barton; brother-in-law, Samuel Bailey; sisters-in-law, Barbara Bailey, Sharon Bailey and Betty Lou Bailey and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jean was born July 8, 1937 in Gordo, Alabama to the late Elton Bobo and Irma McAteer Bobo. She spent most of her life in Gordo and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where she enjoyed teaching a special Sunday School class. She was a faithful follower of Christ with a true servants heart, always finding ways to help those around her. She loved sharing the gospel with everyone she had contact with and did so even in her last days.
Her grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as Pallbearers.
Honorary Pallbearers are the Hickman and Sanders families, Lisa Junkin, Dr. George Nunn, Dr. Payden Wallace and Dr. Stephen Browne.
