Obituary

Amie Jean Richardson, age 96, of Reform, AL died March 3, 2026 in Fairhope, Alabama.  Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Hall officiating.  Burial will be in Arbor Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.  Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, F. Ward Richardson; son, Winston "Wink" Richardson; daughter, Donna Lynn Richardson Layson; her parents; brothers, J. G. Junkin, William Searcy Junkin and Mayo Junkin and sisters, Maudeal Junkin Shelton and Estelle Junkin McCrary.
Survivors include her sons, David Ward Richardson and wife, Melissa of Reform, John Earl Richardson and wife, Brenda of Fairhope and Kyle Mark Richardson and wife, Amanda of Eupora, MS; son-in-law, James "Jimbo" Layson; daughter-in-law, Velma Richardson; sister, Janice Cook (Larry); nineteen grandchildren, Micah Richardson (Claire Leverton), Vance Richardson (Allison), Rylee Richardson Clark (Robbie), Whitney Richardson Dupuis (Craig), Wread Richardson, Weatherly Richardson, Walker Richardson (Scottie Jackson), Welles Richardson (Casey), Bryant Layson (Ashley), Jarrett Layson (Jenna), Alex Layson (Ashley), Jeani Layson Elliott (Josh), Dereck Richardson (Amy), Jeremy Richardson (Kristen), Raven Oglesby, Ashley Weatherspoon (Zac), Corey Richardson (Julia), Drew Richardson (Rachel) and Kylie Richardson Gray (Drew) and twenty-nine great-grandchildren, Lydia Richardson, Rory Clark, Rowan Clark, Canon Dupuis, Leela Leverton, Dexter Leverton, Anderson Richardson, Evan Richardson, John Walker Richardson, Grayson Richardson, Vivian Richardson, Tripp Layson, Carley Layson, Bailey Layson, Olivia Layson, Zion Elliott, Ace Elliott, Jax Elliott, Kai Elliott, Allie Grace Richardson, Hunter Richardson, Katie Richardson, Destiny Chavis, Chloey Chavis, Noah Chavis, Cameron Chavis, Azlynn Weatherspoon, Tinsley Richardson and Brynleigh Richardson.
Jean was born June 12, 1929 in Palmetto, Alabama to the late Elbert Junkin and Arrie Mae Bailey Junkin.  She was an active member of Friendship Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher and a leader of the GA's.  She was also active at the Pickens Baptist Center Thrift Store where she was a Charter Member and was a retired lunchroom worker and manager at Reform Elementary School.
Her grandsons will serve as Pallbearers.
Honorary Pallbearers are the Friendship Baptist Church family.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Friends of the Reform Volunteer Fire Department, Attn. Melissa Richardson, 266 Shady Grove Road, Reform, AL 35481 or to a charity of your choice.
