REFORM | Jerry Ronald Elliott, Sr., age 74, of Reform, died March 13, 2014, at VA Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2014, at Arbor Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Shelton and Rev. Roy Plymon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Louisene "Lucy" McGahey Elliott of Reform, Ala.; son, Jerry R. Elliott, Jr. and wife, Hope Blass Elliott of Columbus, Miss.; sisters, Jeanne McGehee of Huntsville, Ala. and Glenda Westmoreland of Inman, S.C.; granddaughter, Jordan Brooke Elliott of Athens, Ga.; aunt, Jetty Ziff of Jasper, Ala.; six nieces and nephews; and special friends: Shelby and Allen McDaniel, Jimmy McDaniel, William Smith, Rick Bessant, Derek McGahey, Gerald McGahey, David Shaw and Larry and Charlotte McJenkin.Mr. Elliott was born June 19, 1939 in Jasper, Alabama to the late Glenn D. Elliott and Willie Olene Sides Elliott. He was a member of Arbor Springs Baptist Church, a retired employee of Glenn Machine Works in Columbus, Miss. with 30 years of service and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.Pallbearers will be Gerald McGahey, Eddie Taylor, Hoyt Richards, Jeff McGahey, Derek McGahey and David Shaw.Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Elliott, David McGahey, Bobby Parham and Robby Parham.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to The MSA (Multiple System Atrophy) Coalition, 8311 Brier Creek Pkwy., Suite 105-434, Raleigh, N.C. 27617.
