Rev. Jerry Elmore, age 82, of Reform, AL passed away December 1, 2021 at Arbor Woods Health & Rehab in Reform, AL. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Monday, December 6, 2021 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ryan James officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhill Memorial Gardens with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the funeral home. To celebrate his first Christmas in heaven, the family encourages everyone to wear their Christmas colors or even their ugly Christmas sweaters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Larry Elmore and Andy Elmore; sisters, Mary Rose Duncan, Margie Fields, Brenda Coleman, Beechel Tipton, Patricia Brown and Betty Gray and one grandchild, Crystal Michelle Hunnicutt.
Survivors include his daughters, Melinda Wheat (Mark) and Mia James (Shane); sons, Kaleb Elmore and Joshua Elmore; stepsons, John Marler (Lisa), Jason Marler and Travis Marler (Kim); brothers, Johnny Elmore and Danny Elmore; five grandchildren, Ryan James (Tara), Holly Hall (Caleb), Lindsey Bradshaw (Charlie), James Trae Hunnicutt (Rachel) and Corey Hunnicutt (Brooke) and eleven great-grandchildren, Marlie, Kenlee, Abigail, Emma, Caylee, Kael, Maggie, Anakin, Noah, Oliver and Adaline.
Jerry was born February 17, 1939 in Kennedy, Alabama to the late James Henry Elmore and Annie Mitchell Elmore. He was a minister and a retired tree surgeon. In 2019 Jerry returned to Reform where he grew up, played football, spent many years preaching and went to live at Arbor Woods. He felt God had placed him there to finish his last years sharing the love of Jesus and encouraging others.
Pallbearers will be Corey Hunnicutt, Trae Hunnicutt, Charlie Bradshaw, Mike Perrigin, Caleb Hall and Gerald Winters.
Honorary Pallbearers are the staff of Southern Care Hospice, staff and friends of Arbor Woods Health & Rehab, Dr. Boothe and staff of Pickens County Primary Care, Dr. Pandy and staff and friends of Aliceville Manor Nursing Home.
