Jessie Lou Davis, age 91, of Kennedy, AL passed away September 4, 2022 at Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at Big Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Trey Kelley officiating. Burial will be at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, K. V. Davis, Sr.; son, K. V. "Butch" Davis, Jr.; her parents, sisters, Amye Jewel James Cobb, Betty James Robertson Gault and Annie Grace James Gilliland and granddaughter, Christina Cabaniss.
Survivors include her daughter, Gloria Cabaniss and husband, Billy; her son, Terry Davis; daughter-in-law, Elaine Davis; granddaughter, Dawn House and husband, J. C.; two great-grandchildren, Christopher Cabaniss and Shelby Bishop and a number of nieces and nephews.
Jessie was born October 30, 1930 in Pickens County, Alabama to the late Eldon E. James and Dessie Lee Dyer James. She was a homemaker and a member of Big Hill Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Frankie Cabaniss, Danny Wayne Gilliland, Randy Anderson, David Wilson, Jerry Dyer and Jerry Ray.
Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. Lee Loftin, Dr. Barry Gould, Hospice of West Alabama, members of Big Hill Baptist Church and Gordo Senior Center.
