Joan Shelby Gilliam, age 88, of Northport, AL passed away June 30, 2022 at Forest Manor Health & Rehab. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at Dogwood Chapel with Rev. Ralph Windle, Rev. Tom Kay and Rev. Parker Windle officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Memorial Gardens with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at Dogwood Chapel, 200 5th Street NE in Aliceville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Lee Gilliam; her parents and two sisters, Kathryn Plott and Ruth McCall.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Windle and husband, Dennis; brother, Mark Shelby (Linda); sister, Nina Brooks; two grandchildren, Parker Windle (Kyrah) and Savannah Windle Pate (Jason); three great-grandchildren, Lily Windle, Libby Pate and Luke Pate and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joan was born November 22, 1933 in Sumter County, Alabama to the late E. B. Shelby and Tamsy Weathers Shelby. She was a member of Aliceville Presbyterian Church and a retired employee of Westinghouse.
Her nephews will service as Pallbearers.
