June 10, 1939 – November 27, 2021
Joan Cutting Junkin, age 82, of Columbus, MS and formerly of Reform, AL passed away November 27, 2021 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS. Memorial services will be 10:00 am Saturday, December 4, 2021 at First Freewill Baptist Church of Reform with Rev. Hunter Fields officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will follow the service at the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Searcy Junkin; her son, Bradly West and her parents.
Survivors include her son, John Leslie Cutting (Lisa); two daughters, Brandee Delaney and Donna Cutting; daughter-in-law, Natalie West; brother, John P. Lappington II (Martha); step daughters, Teresa Hicks (Jesse) and Cindy McDaniel (Ray); six grandchildren, Tiffany Witty (Aaron), Tyler Cutting (Anna), Nicholas Cutting, Marcus West (Heidi), Sydney Delaney and Alec West and one step-grandchild, Zackary Pate.
Joan was born June 10, 1939 in Mobile, Alabama to the late John Pitken Lappington and Gertrude Littrell Lappington. She graduated from Murphy High School in Mobile, Alabama and then received her Masters degree from the University of Houston. Joan moved to Reform from Houston, Texas in 2008. She was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church of Reform and a retired speech pathologist for Klein ISD.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial to the Columbus-Lowndes Humane Society, 50 Airline Road, Columbus, MS 39702.
