Joe Scott Keasler, age 90, of Reform, AL passed away February 22, 2024 at home.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean McCool Keasler; his parents; brothers, Donald Keasler, Charles Keasler and Gwen Keasler and sister, Aileen Lake.
Survivors include his daughters; Donna Jo Hood (David) and Cindy Fry (Craig); son, Larry Rogers (Liz); two sisters, Betty May (Kenneth) and Dorothy Rickman; five grandchildren, Tracy Montgomery, Amy Morton, Scott Parker, Meagan Hoggle and Sam Sexton III; twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Joe was born February 2, 1934 in Reform, Alabama to the late Whitten Keasler and Lydia Hogue Keasler. He graduated from Pickens County High School in 1952 and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University. He served in the United States Army at the end of the Korean War from 1953-1955. He was an active member of the United States Army Reserve from 1955 to 1962.
He married Betty Jean McCool in 1960 and they were married 61 years and lived in the community of Palmetto. He was a member of Unity Grove Church in Palmetto. He worked for Westinghouse in Reform, AL for most of his career and raised chickens for Peco for many years.
He loved music, gardening, playing with grandkids, spending time with family and friends and he loved everything Auburn. After work and on weekends you could usually find him at the Knolls Country Club in Reform playing golf. Those who knew him well remember him as someone that was always happy and upbeat and liked to have fun.
In accordance with Joe's wishes, there will be no formal service.
