GORDO – John Donald "J. D." Gilliam, age 84, of Gordo, Ala., died November 29, 2016, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 3, 2016, at Gordo First Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in the Gordo City Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the church.He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and four sisters.Survivors include his wife, Janice Gilliam of Gordo, Ala.; daughter, Lisa Gilliam of Columbus, Miss.; and sons, Joe Gilliam and wife, Suzanna of Childersburg, Ala. and Dewayne Burnett of Gordo, Ala.J. D. was born December 01, 1931 in Lamar County, Alabama to the late Renley Robert Gilliam and Maggie Nell Guin Gilliam. He was a member of Gordo First Baptist Church, a former employee of Huyck Felt Company and owner of a lawn mower repair shop.J. D. was a United States Army veteran and retired from the Army National Guard. Pallbearers will be Larry Jones, Robert Earl Carroll, Jeff Gilliam, James Gilliam, Dennis Gilliam and Joey Richardson.Honorary pallbearers are Ray Hardy, James Harold Pugh, Roy Mullinex, Ronald Gene Carroll and Ray Carroll.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the American Red Cross, P.
