John Thomas Junkins, Jr, age 92, of Pell City, AL and formerly of Aliceville, AL passed away August 21, 2021 at the Colonel Robert L. Howard State Veteran's Home. Memorial services will be 11:00 am Friday, August 27, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Aliceville with Rev. Larry Potts officiating. A private burial will be held in Franconia-Oak Grove Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be immediately following the service in the sanctuary.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Noland Junkins; daughter, Maria Junkins Cash; his parents; brother, Earl Dean Junkins and two sisters, Juanita Stephens and Wynelle Seymer.
Survivors include his sons, John T. Junkins III and wife, Lori of Pell City, AL and Phill S. Junkins and wife, Elissa of Franklinton, LA; six grandchildren, Will Cash (Amanda), Hilary Thompson (Chris), Jake Junkins, Amelia Junkins, Katelin Junkins and Jacob Junkins; two great-grandchildren, Luke Thompson and Hannah Kate Thompson and a number of nieces and nephews.
J. T. was born May 25, 1929 in Aliceville, Alabama to the late John T. Junkins, Sr. and Lucille Lewis Junkins. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Aliceville, retired from the paper industry after 37 years of service and was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
