NORTHPORT | James Carl McArthur, age 92, of Northport, Ala., died November 27, 2015, at Northport Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Berrydale, Fla. Skelton Funeral Home of Reform handled local arrangements.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann McArthur; son, James William McArthur; and a daughter, Myra Virginia Copeland.
Survivors include his daughters, Barbara Ard and husband James "Doug" of Columbia, S.C. and Marie Johnson and husband Wayne of Baker, Fla.; son, Charles McArthur and wife Kathleen of Coker, Ala.; ten grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; and special friends Robert and Linda White.
Mr. McArthur was born September 21, 1923 in Century, Fla. to the late John LeRoy and Alma McArthur. He was a veteran of the United States Navy during World War II at Pearl Harbor and a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. He was a retired from American Cyanamid.
