Obituary

STARKVILLE | John Robert ""Bobby"" Crocker, age 80, of Starkville, Miss. formerly of Gordo, died September 15, 2015, at St. Dominic's Hospital in Jackson, Miss. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Blaine Allen officiating. Graveside services will follow at Gordo City Cemetery, with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Ester Crocker and Gabriella Pearson Crocker.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Frances Crocker; daughters, Debbie Hallel and Denise Tyler (Breck) of Brandon, Miss; grandchildren, Braden Miller, Austin Miller (Jazz), Whitney Windham (Will), Perryn Edwards (Charlie) and Reed Tyler; and two great-granddaughters, Lillian Edwards and Adler Miller.
In his early years, Bobby worked for various survey companies. He was retired from Borden Milk Company.
Bobby was a graduate of Gordo High School and attended Livingston State University.
He was an avid sports fan, and played baseball at Livingston University. At age 16, he pitched a perfect baseball game. He was co-captain of his football team and also played basketball at Gordo High School. Bobby was fond of old cars and could name on sight the older car models. He was a charter member of Faith Baptist Church in Starkville, Miss.
Bobby will be missed by his family and friends. He was a family man and he enjoyed spending time with all of his family.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, son-in-law and Bobby Davis.
