ALICEVILLE | John Alvin Stewart, age 49, of Aliceville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 14, 2014, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2014, at West End Baptist Church in Aliceville with Dr. Jimmy Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Memorial Gardens with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service and following. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe. F. Stewart Jr.; and his grandparents, Joe and Sarah Stewart and Henry and Oree Johnson, all of Aliceville. Survivors include his loving mother, Elizabeth Johnson Stewart of Aliceville; his sisters, Julie Stewart Gray (Gregg) of Pickensville and Sara Stewart Dykes of Aliceville; his adored nieces and nephews, Stewart Greggory Gray, Steven Christopher Gray, Anna Kate Dykes, Mason Alan Dykes, and Carly Elizabeth Gray; and cherished aunts and uncles and their families Midget Jones (Wayne), Tommy Johnson (Judy), Ricky Johnson (Sarah), Leila Mae Hudgins and Sammy Stewart (Laura). Al was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed by his family and a host of friends. Al worked as a heavy equipment operator and was a member of West End Baptist Church. He loved spending time outdoors hunting and fishing and enjoying time with family and friends. Pallbearers will be special friends David Rogers and David Gilmore, brother-in-law Gregg Gray, nephew Stewart Gray, and uncles Ricky Johnson and Tommy Johnson.
