ECHOLA – Johnny Raymond Brown, age 83, of Echola, Ala., died July 3, 2018, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2018, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Shaddix and Elder Chris McCool officiating. Burial will follow in Big Creek Cemetery in Coker, Ala. with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James C. "Junior" Brown, Jr. and Marvin Brown; and his sister, Mary Pearl Duncan.
Survivors include his sisters, Jewell Smith of Hueytown, Ala., Betty G. Miller of Gordo, Ala. and Imogene Brown of Echola, Ala. and brother, Troy Brown of Echola, Ala.
Johnny was born October 4, 1934 in Coker, Alabama to the late James Clinton Brown, Sr. and Mamie Glenn Herndon Brown. He was a lifelong member of Corinth Baptist Church in Echola, Ala. and a retired farmer.
Johnny had a host of friends, nieces and nephews. He left this life to go home to be with the Lord. He will be greatly missed.
Pallbearers will be George Henry, Auzie Martin, Farrell Noland, Randy Smith, Ronnie Mitchum and Edward Mitchum.
Honorary pallbearers are the doctors and nurses of DCH Regional Medical Center and staff of Arbor Woods Health and Rehab.
