MILLPORT – Joyce Marie Bobbitt, age 83, of Millport, Ala., died June 1, 2018, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2018, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ed Nabors and Rev. Kenneth Stough officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Millport, Ala., with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Bobbitt; her parents, brother, Donald Conner; son-in-law, Albert Fleming; and brother-in-law, Junior Bobbitt.
Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Fleming and Shirley Weathers (Tommy); grandchildren, LeAnn Fleming, Stacey Weathers (Christy) and Matt Weathers (Danielle); great-grandchildren, Cole Weathers, Emily Weathers and Ann Marie Campbell-Weathers; sisters-in-law, Barbara Conner and Inez Bobbitt.
Mrs. Bobbitt was born December 7, 1934 in Lamar County, Alabama to the late Henry B. Conner and Annie Lou Leonard Conner. She was a past employee of United Technologies and McCoy Manufacturing in Columbus, Miss. and a long-time school cafeteria worker for Kennedy High School.
Pallbearers will be Matt Weathers, Greg Conner, Jeff Richards, Dan Leonard, Chuck Crowe and Mark Bobbitt.
Honorary pallbearers are Cole Weathers and members of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
