GORDO – Judy Lane Shirley, age 70, of Gordo, Ala., died May 2, 2017, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 3 p.m. Friday, May 5, 2017, at Mt. Olivet "Beaver Dam" Presbyterian Church with Rev. Leonard Hill and Rev. Todd Burkhalter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Douglas Boothe; brothers-in-law, Donald, Howard, Danny Ray and Dudley; and sisters-in-law, Francine and Elizabeth "Pee Wee".
Survivors include her husband, Powell Shirley of Gordo; daughter, Krystal Harbin (Jason) of Moundville; son, Lloyd Shirley (Missey) of Gordo; sister, Martha Gail Duncan (Dale) of Jena; brothers, Frankie Boothe of Buhl and Larry Boothe of Tuscaloosa; granddaughters, Challise Shirley (Jesse), Jayci Harbin (Trent) and Lyndsie Harbin; grandson, Kylar Driggers; great-aunts, Louise Marcum and Elsie Wilson; in-laws, Donnie Nell, Edward, Dot, Jane, Annette, Nelly Joe and Mary Lou; and other friends and family.
Judy was born September 28, 1946 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to the late Gordon Boothe and Paralee Burgess Boothe. She was a member of Flatwoods Baptist Church, a retired Home Health caregiver and a well-known resident of the Gordo area.
Pallbearers will be her nephews.
Honorary pallbearers are Hospice of West Alabama, Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center at DCH, DCH-MICU doctors and nurses and Amedisys Home Health.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Hospice of West Alabama, 3851 Loop Road, Tuscaloosa, AL 35404.
