Justin William Elrod, age 43, of Reform, AL died July 12, 2026 at his residence. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Skelton Funeral Home with J. C. Bryant officiating. Burial will be in Ethelsville Baptist Church Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm on the 25th at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Ashley Elrod; his father, Larry Wayne Elrod of Reform; children, Gabriel William Elrod and Julia Lynne Elrod; grandparents, Carry Wayne Elrod, Myrtle Mae Fitch Elrod of Ethelsville; Jim VanDee of Nanafalia, AL; Shelby Jean Watkins and stepfather, Rayford Watkins of Holt.

Survivors include his mother, Tanya VanDee; his son, Jagur Wayne Elrod; his daughter, Justina Whitney Mitchell (Cody); stepdaughter, Annabelle Lovelady; soon to be his granddaughter as of February 2027, Alora Rain Mitchell; sister, Tracy Johnson (Arnie); sworn brothers, Andrew Long, Chris Green, Zachary Nutter, Aaron Shultz, John Whaley, Ian Menaweiland, Joshua Freeman, Ronny Davis, Paul Neilsen, Joseph Davis and Chase Sealy; mother of his children and best friend, Heather Bryant; second mom, Darlene Bryant Miller; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, other family and friends and special BOP family.

Justin was born April 18, 1983 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He was a Federal Corrections Officer at FCI Aliceville and a veteran of the United States Army serving as an MP in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Pallbearers will be Jagur Elrod, Chris Green, Andrew Long, Ronny Davis, Paul Neilsen and Joey Davis.
