REFORM | Karen Jane Lowe, age 61, of Reform, Ala., died November 9, 2015, at Pickens County Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, November 12, 2015, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brannon Pinion officiating. Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis Lee Lowe and Margaret Gorman Lowe and niece, Shanna Burkhalter Pearson.
Survivors include her sister, Sharon L. Burkhalter of Reform, Ala.; brother-in-law, Dudley Burkhalter of Reform, Ala.; nephew, Glen Burkhalter of Gordo, Ala.; niece, Heather Burkhalter of Beaverton, Oregon; great-nephews, Austin Burkhalter, Justin Burkhalter and Keith Pearson; great-nieces, Jada Pearson and Samantha Pearson; and beloved cousins.
Karen was born February 9, 1954 at Druid City Hospital in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She was a resident of Arbor Woods Health and Rehab in Reform, Alabama and even though Karen was homebound, her quiet and gentle manner touched the lives of those who knew her. Her smile blessed many.
A graduate of Pickens County High School in Reform, Karen received her Bachelor's and Master's degree in Psychology from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. She was a member of Reform First Baptist Church.
Honorary pallbearers are the staff and employees of Arbor Woods Health and Rehab and Dr. Lee Richardson.
